Heritage Park Secondary - Where Learning Matters

One of the major roles schools play is to help prepare students to be positive, contributing members of our society. Positive, contributing members of our society in the future may have to engage in five or more careers during their lifetimes. This infers that to be successful in the future you will need a wide variety of skills and experiences and be able to learn, unlearn and re-learn or more simply be flexible and well rounded individuals.

Heritage Park Secondary's staff is committed to working with you to continue to build traditions of excellence in academics, the arts and athletics.

Virtual Fundraising Website Launched!

January 2014

Why Support Us?

We are fundraising to provide enriched educational experiences (Field Trips) and leadership training (Student-Led Conference) for our students. With your help, our students will be able to progress their educational experience and expand their future options.

Parents can begin by going to:

www.virtualfundraising.ca

Then: Click on “Current Causes” and scan down to Heritage Park.

Find “student leadership program” and click on that - then you are ready to start shopping (hamburger, chicken, pork, sausages, organic coffees and tea, gift ideas – chocolates), appetizers, snacks and desserts.

If orders are $200.00 or more, delivery is free - direct to your home, otherwise pickup options will be arranged via email.

When you get to the “checkout phase” click on the student from Heritage Park you are supporting (you may have to scroll upwards to view the list). 20-30% of the order funds total goes to this student.

Thank you for your support!

D. Kooy,
A. LaFontaine

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT PROGRAM

The Mission School District International Student Program is currently looking for nurturing host families to provide a welcoming “home away from home” for our visiting elementary and secondary students. We are particularly in need of homes for elementary students. These paid positions are a wonderful opportunity to share your heart and your home as well as our great Canadian culture with young visitors from around the world. Student placements range from 2 weeks to 2 years! We invite you to complete our On-line Application Form to become a host family and be a part of our exciting International Student program. Please complete all 5 sections of the On-line Application Form and we will be happy to contact you for a follow up home visit.

NO PARKING ZONE AT HPSS

Walking to and from school is encouraged. When it is necessary to drop off and pick up your child, please do so at the south end of the Annex parallel to Stave Lake Road or on Prentis Avenue. A NO PARKING zone has been recently added to the road in front of the main entrance in order to ensure safety of students and to provide complete access to parking spaces for those with a parking permit for people with disabilities. You can help improve the flow of traffic by entering the parking lot from the south and leaving at the east entrance so vehicles can then access Stave Lake Road via traffic lights and leave the south entrance for school buses only. The parking lot speed is 15km/hr. Thank you for your support.
